Following in the footsteps of cities like San Diego, Honolulu, Hawaii, is taking its first steps as an intelligent city by converting 53,000 of its streetlights to state-of-the-art LEDs. They also provide a world of possibilities for the city: In the near future, Honolulu will conduct a pilot project using CityIQ™ nodes to track car share programs and improve utility billing practices.
Allyn Lee, a Program Administrator in Honolulu, explains why the city chose Current products to light the roadways, the results they expect, and what’s next for Honolulu as it moves toward becoming a smart city.
